SongCycle - The all singing all cycling male voice quartet
 

 

Has been a member of St Thomas’ choir since 1961. He joined at the age of 7, following a family tradition. Richard has two grandsons Joseph and Haris and two sons James the eldest and Jonathan who is SongCycle‘s official deputy and sound engineer. Richard has a professional background in property and is a building surveyor with his own company based in Brentwood dealing in all property matters throughout the country. Richard plays the trumpet (occasionally) is keen on DIY and lives in Brentwood with Wendy.

 

A freelance professional Bass Trombonist who played for many top orchestras. Brian has sung in church choirs since the age of 7, and joined St Thomas’ in 1992. Brian also composes and arranges music for brass and choirs and has arranged most of SongCycle's repertoire. Brian has recently taken up his other passion,  driving and is a member of the Chauffeurs Guild and now offers professional  chauffeuring services. Brian knows a lot about cheese, lives in Pilgrims Hatch with his wife Lesley, has two grown up children, Robin and Emily and three grandchildren.

Is the Director of Music at Farringtons School Chislehurst and the Organist and for 22 year was Choirmaster of All Saint’s and St Peter’s parish churches in Hutton but has now returned to assist the music department at St Thomas'. He is also an accomplished pianist and tenor soloist. Nick, a member of St Thomas’ choir since 1993 and founder of the church’s girls choir, has also been singing in choirs since the age of 7 and was Head Chorister at Norwich Cathedral at the age of 13. He was an Organ Scholar in Durham and also plays the trombone. Nick lives in Pilgrims Hatch with his wife Amanda and two boys Oli and Alex.

Is the newest (and youngest…) member of SongCycle. He joined St Thomas' choir  in 1994 aged 7, spent three years as organ scholar and four and a half years as Organist and Choirmaster of Holy Cross Parish Church in Hornchurch and six years as Director of Music at St Thomas' Brentwood. Following his studies at Hedley Walter School in Brentwood (music teacher Nick Rayner) and gaining his B Mus at Goldsmiths College he was Head of music at the Royal Liberty School before having a complete change of career and now works for a local firm of bathroom and kitchen fitters. Sam lives in Pilgrims Hatch with his wife Emily, daughter Beatrice and cat Gilbert.

Since 2001 has been SongCycle‘s official deputy, and sound engineer. He joined
St Thomas' choir at the age of 7 and at 13 he recorded his own CD “Made in Heaven”. Whilst gaining his BSc (Hons) degree at LM University he sang in Leeds Parish Church Choir under the direction of Simon Lindley, and in his spare time produced outside broadcasts with Galaxy FM. Jonathan now lives in Iver, Buckinghamshire and runs his own recording company Jonny B Productions Ltd. He works for the BBC and some of London's top radio stations as well as tutors in radio production and broadcasting. When time permits Jonny produces all of SongCycle's recordings which are available on CD and with his wife Sophie, a BBC broadcaster, produces the video clips.
